DETAILS
FEMA’s flood hazard data is used by many- floodplain managers, state/local officials, insurance companies, lenders; each group uses the data differently. This can result in conflicting interpretations and applications of the information. There are often questions about how flood determination companies make their determinations and what steps they take to ensure the accuracy of the information.

This webinar will provide perspective on the flood determinations: the purpose and methods used, technical procedures for performing flood zone determinations, and challenges faced that may result in data discrepancies for stake-holders. We’ll address how new regulations and legislation affect the flood determination process, the companies that perform them, and the recipients of the data.

In this webinar, you will:
gain understanding about the flood zone determination process and the federal regulations that govern them;
understand how flood zone discrepancies occur and how they are resolved; and
gain perspective on challenges facing the flood determination industry, and the implications for other stakeholder groups.
All registered participants will receive access to an electronic recording of this eLearning training opportunity!
